Today's
Mission -
Remembering
the 323rd
The Second World War is etched on the memories
of those who fought in it, no less of those who were on the home
front while their nations clashed in the bloodiest conflict in history.
To subsequent generations--the children and grandchildren--of the
WWII generation, the war is the stuff of family lore where fathers,
uncles, brothers did great deeds in far off places. For generations
younger still, the war is a far off, distant legend that lives only
in Hollywood.
This website was created by Steve Perri, the
original ball turrett gunner on the Delta Rebel #2, as a tribute to
his fellow members of the 323rd Bomber Squadron and as an accurate
and reliable historical record of the events that took place in
Europe during WWII.
The 91st Bomb Group Memorial Association's (BGMA)
purpose is to keep alive the spirit of the 91st BG (H) and to maintain
the fellowship of all those who fought together in World War II
from AF Station 121 in Bassingbourn, England from 1942 - 1945.
Help keep this spirit alive by
joining the 91st BGMA.
Preserve the memories of our heroes whose duty was to fly in the
extraordinary B-17 Flying Fortress.
