MASTER

Bob Cox clearly
recalled seeing
an early B-17F carrying
the title of Master
Bader. It drew considerable
humor apparently
before it was erased
from the plane-no
doubt as a result
of one of the censorship
drives against the
double entendre
and raunchy graphics
that were appearing
on some of the groups
planes.
Almost certainly
this was one of
pilot Don Baders
airplanes, although
its identity has
not been established
for sure. The two
aircraft most commonly
linked to Don Bader
and his crew were
those known as Heavyweight
Annihilators, although
his crew did fly
in other ships during
their combat tour.
